Avage Review
What is Avage?
Avage is a white cream available only through prescription. Under other prescription names, it has been used to treat acne vulgaris and plaque psoriasis. It is only used on a 0.1% concentration, and it is specifically treated as a product that will mitigate the development of facial lines, wrinkling, mottled hyper and hypopigmentation, and benign facial lentigines in patients with excessive exposure to sunlight. However, they caution that it does not eliminate or prevent wrinkles, repair sundamaged skin, reverse photo aging, or restore more youthful and younger looking skin.
What Ingredients are in Avage?
The disclosed and listed ingredients in prescription Avage include tazarotene and benzyl peroxide as a preservative.
What Else Should I Know about Avage?
Neither of these ingredients, as they state, are meant to reduce or reverse aging, sun damage, photo aging, etc. In fact, when used as an acne treatment or as it is meant to under the name of Avage, it has been known to burn and irritate the skin, causing more damage and greater sun sensitivity, therefore accelerating the skin's natural rate of aging. It is no secret that there are no prescription treatments that are actually meant to reverse the common signs of aging. But there are some that at the very least don't accelerate the process.
