NOW Foods’ CoQ10 Antioxidant Cream
This cream, created by NOW Food, is meant to be used in conjunction with a serum, cleanser, and toner that all use antioxidants to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve elasticity.
Claiming to nourish the skin, repair damage, and replace healthy water to oil balance, this product’s primary ingredient is CoQ10. This is supposedly the key to increasing skin elasticity and also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
In order to determine the effectiveness of this product, we need to take a closer look at what works and what doesn’t.

CoQ10 is an enzyme that the body naturally produces, though production drops as the body ages. It is used internally for a myriad of ills, though little has been proven. It has been tested as a treatment for the lines at the corners of the eyes, and has been shown to be effective when used for a long time. It is unknown however, if there is enough CoQ10 in this cream to be effective.
This product also contains GABA, which is said to relax the appearance of smile and frown lines. GABA, when injected into the skin, actually influences the nerves that control muscles, selectively preventing muscle contractions, reducing the speed with which nerves fire. Applied topically, however, it is not shown to be as effective.
What Else Should I Know About CoQ10 Antioxidant Cream?
This product is most likely ineffective, and unproven. We would not recommend it.
