MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum
MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum was an addition to the luxurious line created by Sephora called Cosmedicine. We use past tense to review this product because this serum was actually discontinued however, you can still find this serum available online.
As a nighttime treatment, MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum was a cocktail of vitamins, peptides, and nutrients with antioxidant benefits. The advanced serum was supposed to help with the appearance of pigmentation, lines, and wrinkles. Did this product have any redeeming qualities and what can we learn from its failure?
What ingredients are in MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum?
MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum had an abundance of top-notch ingredients, which explains its heavy price tag ($85). The active ingredient was the strong moisturizing agent 1.0% dimethicone. The second key ingredient in this serum was retinol. Retinol has been proven time and time again as a great topical treatment for naturally aged skin as a way to improve the skin’s appearance.
Other beneficial ingredients we found include the two peptides palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide 7. Peptides help stimulate collagen synthesis to firm the skin once again. Combined additional vitamins B, C, and E where exactly did this serum go wrong?
What else should I know about MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum?
The problem with this serum wasn’t that it was weak or ineffective. The downfall of MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum, believe it or not, was the potent smell.
Plenty of customer reviews concerning the smell of this serum are harsh and compare the smell to near sewage (their words, not ours). We would also like to point out that MegaDose PM Skin Fortifying Serum had at least four parabens that could irritate the skin and several people report severe breakouts after using this treatment. Clearly, this serum was discontinued for good reason.
