Medik8 CE-Tetra

Medik8 CE-Tetra is a vitamin C serum which improves the skin in three ways. First, it helps to combat sun damage. Second, it triggers collagen synthesis. And third, it increases the skin’s elasticity and density as well as improves texture of the skin and brightness of the complexion.

This product is designed specifically for both men and women in their mid-20s to 40s.

What is in Medik8 CE-Tetra?

Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer, Tocopherol (d-Alpha).

The first ingredient is jojoba oil, which is basically a lubricant. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is the vitamin they are advertising as being the most important part of this product. In reality, with one exception, vitamin c cannot penetrate past the epidermal layer of the skin, so this product cannot provide the in-depth restoration it claims.

Cyclopentasiloxaneis just a form of silicone, used as a sort wax commonly found in hairsprays and other more solid hair products. PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer is an emollient, which means that its function is to smooth the skin. The last ingredient, tocopherol, is Vitamin E, which is used as a cheap antioxidant in cosmetics.  Some experience allergic reactions to some tocopheryl and may even develop a rash and hives that may spread over the entire body from the use of topical products with alpha tocopheryl esters.

What else should I know about Medik8 CE-Tetra?

Some of the ingredients in the product seem to be fairly useful, but the primary ingredient – Vitamin C- simply cannot do all that it claims. If you are looking for an effective Vitamin C treatment, we would recommend reading the labels and finding a product that contains L-Ascorbic Acid.

That is the only effective form of topical vitamin C. Also avoid fillers like silicone, as they generally do not hydrate or repair the skin, but are mostly useless.
