Lumitone HP Pro Brightening Serum
This serum claims to “illuminate dull, ashy skin and target uneven skin tone,” and be effective in just 14 days. If your skin tone is red and blotchy, or has lost its luster, this product claims that it can help.
Using a proprietary blend of peptides and botanicals, it targets the conditions that cause discoloration, such as sun damage and age lines. We are interested in learning more about this product.
It costs about $70 for one fluid ounce, and serums are generally more concentrated, so we should expect to see high doses of peptides and lighteners.
What are the Ingredients in Lumitone HP Pro Brightening Serum?
The ingredients in this product are disappointing. We only found one peptide, and it was far down in the ingredient list. Peptides are only effective when at least three are used in a product.
We also found several plant extracts. These cannot permeate the epidermal layer and will not be effective at making a real difference. Lumitone HP Pro Brightening Serum also contains a paraben, which is a harmful ingredient found in cheap cosmetics. This ingredient causes irritation and has even been linked to more fatal conditions. If possible, it should be avoided.
What Else Should I Know About Lumitone HP Pro Brightening Serum?
We would not recommend this product. We were not impressed with the ingredients, which were mainly useless – either because they are in low doses or because they are “fillers.”
Fillers are what we call ingredients that are ineffective, things like preservatives and thickeners, and are put in the product just to fill up space. When you are buying a serum, you should expect to see no fillers since it is supposed to be a more highly concentrated solution. Look for something that contains proven brighteners, or consider a chemical peel to rejuvenate the skin.
