LiftActiv Retinol HA Eyes
I have always hated my under eye area. I am pretty sure I have had dark circles and bags since I was 10 years old. So, needless to say, I am constantly on the hunt for a great under-eye product that will lighten and brighten my under-eye skin, firm and tighten bags and provide long lasting moisture.
The company’s website claims that the key ingredients in their LiftActiv Retinol HA Eyes (Hyaluronic Acid Retinol Palmitate + Adenosine ) will give an immediate filling action and that these ingredients deliver quick hydrating and resurfacing effects.
I am constantly looking at products to help my under-eye dilemma that has plagued me for years, so lets see how LiftActiv Retinol HA Eyes measures up!
LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes Ingredients
Before I highlight some of the ingredients for LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes, I have to take a moment to share how I feel about fillers. A LOT of skin care products use fillers. Sure, some of them may make your skin feel smooth and attract moisture to the cells in your epidermis, but I could use olive oil on my skin and get the same results.
When looking for a skin care product that promises some incredible results, they better be packed with highly effective and tested ingredients. LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes has a lot of emollients (smooth feeling ingredients) and humectants (moisture attracting ingredients) and fillers that make your skin feel soft and retain a bit of moisture. But does it contain ingredients that will actually make my eyes not look so sunken all day and help them get better over time? Below are the active ingredients in LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes and a short explanation of what they can do:
• Shae and Coconut butters and Sunflower Seed Oil – amongst the plethora of synthetic emollients in LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes, there are some natural ones which usually last longer and are gentler when it comes to keeping your skin smooth and hydrated.
• Vitamin E – after filing through over HALF the ingredients we finally get to something worthwhile. Vitamin E is a great source of antioxidants easily accessible by our skin cells which help our cells be healthier and in turn stay looking younger longer.
• Caffeine – in regards to skin, caffeine can enhance the suppleness and appearance of dry and flaky skin.
• Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate – have the same effects of caffeine. They restore suppleness and diminish the look of dry or flaky skin.
• Adenosine – Can help increase collagen and elastin production (which helps your skin stay tight and young looking) but this ingredient is way far down on the list meaning this product doesn’t have very much of this ingredient.
• Ascorbyl Glucoside (a stable form on Vitamon C) – can be used as an antioxidant but there isn’t much research out there to make me feel confident in this ingredient.
Is LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes Safe?
The company’s website has their research stats listed, but the testing was only on 42 women. 42?! That is NOT a large study at all! However overall consumer reviews rate LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes effective and gentle.
I personally am turned off by the amount of synthetic fillers in this product. There are a handful of good ingredients that will definitely make your skin smoother and feeling more moisturized, but that’s about it. Also if you have issues with parabens, this product contains them and might not be for you.
LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes Policies
There is a 30 day return policy that allows consumers to return full or partially used bottles of LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes for a full refund within 30 days. You cannot return an empty bottle.
Overall Value
LiftActive Retinol HA Eyes can be found for $40 or under online plus shipping and handling. I don’t feel like there is enough testing, evidence, or effective ingredients that this eye cream is any better than if I consistently hydrated my under-eyes with any generic lotion.
However the price isn’t bad, you can return it after trying it (just don’t use the whole bottle!), and plenty of consumers say they loved it. With my under-eye history, I wouldn’t waste my time knowing there are products out there that are more effective, more natural and about the same price.
